A new Glassdoor survey reveals U.S. worker confidence in their employers has hit a record low, with only 44% optimistic about their company’s future—the lowest in nearly a decade. The drop in sentiment began in 2022 amid inflation, interest rate hikes, and widespread layoffs. Mentions of “uncertainty” in employee reviews rose 63% year-over-year, and entry-level workers are especially pessimistic. Industries like manufacturing, construction, and logistics are seeing sharp declines in morale. Burnout, understaffing, and economic anxiety—exacerbated by tariffs and AI disruption—are fueling growing concern among American workers.
