Asheboro man arrested after deputies witness teenager being assaulted, officials say

RANDLEMAN, N.C. —

A Randolph County man is facing charges for allegedly assaulting a teenager after a deputy says he witnessed an assault in progress.

On June 1st, Randolph County Sheriff’s deputies were called to an address on Steele Street in Asheboro. When they arrived, a deputy saw the teenager, who arrest warrants confirmed was 15 years old, being assaulted by an adult they were related to. That adult was later identified as 49-year-old Leomin Bolaina-Perez.

Arrest warrants state the victim had broken teeth, a wound to the chin, and was bound by their hands and feet using ropes. They were taken to a hospital for a medical evaluation.

Bolaina-Perez was taken to the Randolph County Detention Center without incident. He’s being charged with felony assault, inflicting serious injury and felony child abuse-serious bodily injury. He was issued a $350,000 secured bond. His first appearance in court was set for June 2nd.

Just a man trying to eliminate the bias in mainstream media, and make relevant news more accessible to people than it ever has been. Don't feel obligated, but if you want to throw me a bone or two, I won't object.
