RANDLEMAN, N.C. —
A Randolph County man is facing charges for allegedly assaulting a teenager after a deputy says he witnessed an assault in progress.
On June 1st, Randolph County Sheriff’s deputies were called to an address on Steele Street in Asheboro. When they arrived, a deputy saw the teenager, who arrest warrants confirmed was 15 years old, being assaulted by an adult they were related to. That adult was later identified as 49-year-old Leomin Bolaina-Perez.
Arrest warrants state the victim had broken teeth, a wound to the chin, and was bound by their hands and feet using ropes. They were taken to a hospital for a medical evaluation.
Bolaina-Perez was taken to the Randolph County Detention Center without incident. He’s being charged with felony assault, inflicting serious injury and felony child abuse-serious bodily injury. He was issued a $350,000 secured bond. His first appearance in court was set for June 2nd.
