ASHEBORO, N.C. (WGHP) — A tractor-trailer overturned on Interstate 73/74, causing damage to a bridge on Tuesday morning.
Photos from the scene from the Asheboro Fire Department show an overturned tractor-trailer lying over both lanes of travel on I-73/74.
The AFD says that the NC 42/Salisbury Street bridge crossing the interstate will be closed for an extended period due to it being hit and suffering damage.

The North Carolina Department of Transportation reports that all four lanes on the bridge are closed in both directions due to the damage. One lane on I-73/74 is closed currently.
There is no word as to what caused the crash or the status of anyone involved at this time.
